Refused Bank Account

Hello again, after receiving my £2 Credit report from Experian with no bad records such as CIFAS showing up, (It was found through my current address, so my Dads records came up also) I decided to apply for a Lloyds Account. At the branch upon doing a credit check it was declared that my application had been declined. This is the second time this has happened firstly with Halifax and now Lloyds. The lady doing my app said I should ask Natwest why they closed my account in the first place. Natwest said they couldn't disclose the information with me.

Now I'm completely stuck and not sure what to do.
I suspect a CIFAS note... But nothing came up on the Statutory report which confuses me even more. Do I need to get a CIFAS report? Or a £10 report? If so, since I do not have a bank account how would they be able to verify my identification?

I don't know where else to turn to. I've been going out of my mind! Thankyou

Your dad's accounts were showing on your credit report?

If your parents correctly completed the ER forms sent this year and last (in August) then you'll be on the roll with the CRAs imminently (they receive the updates on 1st December).

Let me update you all on the situation:

I had a Natwest Adapt account for under 18's. Earlier this year my card got stolen and someone used it to do some sort of illegal activities. Before realising my card had been used (I was on holiday), When I get back I received notice that my accounts had been closed. Along with 'unpaid cheques' going into my account, to which I think were stolen. Furious, I called Natwest asking what has happened. They said they couldn't disclose the information with me but I can no longer use Natwest and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Realising there is nothing I can do I thought I wait till I'm 18 till I open a new account.
Now I applied for a halifax current account. When they replied they said that I haven't passed the Credit Score check. And today leads me to this thread
I asked before and people said I may have a CIFAS Note on my account.
  • More like Hunter which does not report to CRA's.
Please tell us more about bounced cheques being paid into your account - over which timescale etc - this information will be on your staements so that we can help further.

I did all my banking online and now I have no online banking to check my statements, but the time was when I was on holiday during which I couldn't collect my AS results. So this was around the 18th of August. When I got home I had letters from Natwest. One saying the cheques had been unpaid - my guess somehow stolen. Two my bank account had been closed. I checked my wallet and yes no debit card.
What I don't understand is why they didn't just take the money from my account, rather than leaving it unpaid?
  • Are you still banging on about this? You must have created humpteen threads on the same subject.

Are you on the electral register? Have you checked your credit report with all 3 CRAs and data contained by the National Hunter?

I'm sorry but I just want to resolve the issue promptly.
I read that the credit reports are pretty much the same over all the CRA's.
Sorry for the questions but how do I obtain all the data contained by the National Hunter?
Also, does a statutory report even contain CIFAS notes?
Someone mentioned that my parents should have put me on the register, but if not, how do I check and subsequently register myself?

As someone who posted a thread on National Hunter earlier this year I suggest instead of asking loads of questions about the same thing you use the search box for this entire forum and put in the words "National Hunter".

Secondly the reports are not exactly the same that's why you have been asked to get all 3.

Finally if your card gets stolen and account is being used illegally then a bank will try and contact you first regardless of whether you are on holiday or not. Mobile phones are a great tool which even kids now have.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
