unlocking mobile nokia 3330

hi, i recently got a free orange sim and wanted to use it in my old mobile. i've never unlocked a phone before (are they all locked?). could anyone point me in the direction of where i would get instructions on how to do this?

If it's locked would depend on the network it was on originally. Orange and T Mobile always locked theirs to their network. Vodafone and BT didn't lock their phones originally, however; they did start locking them about 2 years ago.
There are plenty of free unlocking sites on the net and a lot of them posted in these forums.
Your phone is classed as a DCT3 phone so when you find a site ensure you place the IMEI number in the right box. Your IMEI can be obtained by either taking off the battery and looking at the sticker below it or the easier way is to type *#06# the number which is displayed is your IMEI.
