Ok, so I changed them (bought them) from takings at a raffle I was collecting for. Still, stops me from spending twelve pounds as I cannot bear to spend a 2 pound coin

That makes £172 this year so far. Not much hope of getting to £200 though.

Good luck, you just need to tip the odds a little in your favour. When shopping use cash and make sure the amount of change you need is over £2.00. And instead of putting £30 petrol in the car, put in £28.

I added another 5 to my already expanding 4 :T

SIL works at our local club where we were last night so is specifically saving the for DH - He is now refusing to spend them :rotfl: So we have £18 in total ... really must stop counting if I ever want a surprise at the end of the year!!

I agree about the purchasing in cash - if you buy items at £1 - £2 from £5 you nearly always get a £2 if they have any ... Don't spend though just to get one

Dr Squeeze - It was extremely windy that day but I hope you will be glad to know I did get back in one piece, and dry which was a miracle! Also I too love how the coins add up. Seperatly I would spend them on normal things, but together they add up to a nice sum which can be used for something much more worthwhile, or as alwaysthebusybee said, as a back up plan to be there when required.

Gonnabedebtfree - don't be too disheartened. Because we restrict ourselves to one coin type it is always going to be a bit harder to save them, but have confidence you will start finding them soon!

Froglitina - £172 is fantastic! You DO still have time to find more before the end of the year, but otherwise don't worry about the £200, think how FAB the £172 is and what it can be used for!!!

I too cannot bear to spend a £2 coin, and often swap them for other denominations so they can all go in my pot :rotfl:

Hope the £2 savers club will continue in 2012. Going to up my target next year I think. My OH cant understand why I cant spend £2 coins nad want to save them - I think its because its very easy as they dont appear very frequently ( well round here they dont!) and it mounts up quickly without missing it in the purse IYSWIM. If I dont find anymore before Christmas - Nadolig Llawen pawb ( Happy Christmas everyone ) and I hope 2012 is a good one for finding and saving those shiney special coins:xmassmile

Thank you for the lovely welcome. Very fortunate that we don't have any debt, but it's surprising how much money just gets frittered away.Iv'e also joined the Sealed Pot Challenge.
