Amazon -anyone else having delivery problems?

So I ordered books for BILs birthday present - birthday on 1st December, books ordered 21st November, arrived 7th December, too late so had to be sent back. Ordered a CD for my dad's birthday - ordered on 27th Nov for birthday on 11th December, still hasn't arrived. Ordered Xmas presents for DMIL on 10th Dec, due to be delivered yesterday, still no sign. Ordered DVD for dad for christmas on 10th dec, still hasn't arrived. And of course no tracking info on anything.

When I sent the first lot back they were received within 3 days and processed immediately.

Anyone else having this or any ideas what's going on? I've always found amazon really reliable before.

(this is on the NI board because I'm wondering whether it's a specific NI problem)

In Greater Belfast area and my deliveries are coming through as normal and had quite a few this month.

Hope its just a glitch and improves for you plus it might be worth a call through to them to let them know you're having issues.

  • Everything I have ordered is coming within a few days. Even with super saver delivery.

I got a despatch email this morning for an item that is being sent by 1st class post. The ETA on this is 22/12/10 but I think this longer delivery estimate may be due to Christmas post and weather.

Some stuff I've been waiting on for ages. There does seem to be some kind of Royal Mail issue, but it doesn't look very widespread at the moment.
  • Anything I have ordered on amazon has arrived in a few days, although i'm beginning to sweat on a few other items that still haven't arrived from different companies.:(
  • I've had several orders in the past few weeks and everything arrived within a few days. The most recent one was just last week.

Hope you get sorted soon though!

I ordered 4 items (1 package) on 29th November - looking at the tracking it says package collected from depot by courier on 5th December and that package is in transit.

Still haven't received it yet, and as they are Christmas presents which have to be sent on again, not holding out much hope of them arriving in time:(
  • Hi! I'm having horrendous problems as well, sooo fed up! I ordered a picture frame on 'Black Friday'. City Link tried to deliver it but I was at work...so I had to drive a 40+ mile round trip to Aldergrove to pick it up. The glass was smashed so Amazon sent out another, saying it would be with me last Friday. City Link can't give you an estimate of delivery time, just 07.30-17.30. My mum sat in all Friday for me and nothing arrived. On checking their website over the weekend, it said the parcel would arrive on Monday, then on Tuesday it said Tuesday. My mum wasn't well so she stayed in both days, but nothing arrived. Their website tracking still says my parcvel will be delivered on Tuesday 14th!!

I have tried contacting City Link upwards of 40 times on three different numbers but, after a recording saying your call is being transferred, the line goes dead every time. I've emailed Amazon twice now and received a generic response both times, saying to wait until the 20th.....so I am supposed to sit in 07.30 -17.30 every day until then?! What I don't want is a second trip to Aldergrove...for a frame costing £9.99 it isn't worth two trips!

Very unhappy! As a side note, I ordered a £150 coffee machine in the same order. It arrived two days later via Royal Mail who left it in the garage for me. No hassle at all!

  • I've heard there's a backlog of parcels at the Belfast sorting office...so might not be amazons fault
