I go into the properties of the email, copy the info, and forward the email to abuse@orange.co.uk as I am with orange broadband. It generally stops within a couple of days.

Does that work with these American share Emails? I've had a few for months but they've suddenly increased to up to 20 a day. With Orange - which intercepts most into my Spam folder. But, as others say, all the domains / users are different and they're wrapped in gobbldegook text in order the Subject line is different for each one

im getting the same kind of emails and they are driving me mad....every one comes with a different sender and ive tried to put some of the text words into my spam filter with norton but they still seem to get through...seems the lovely coloured writing about the shares etc are some kind of insert that you cant copy and paste any of the writing. On one of the email address of the sender (ie something'at'something'dot'tr) i went to the www of the something tr and it was for a finance company - where the hell is .tr anyway lol...btw im with blueyonder and not orange....darn spam is driving me mad

I had a subscription to a UK based Share newsletter until recently - and was blaming that for leaking the Email address, as my OH gets none of these spams. But - sounds now as though that's wrong.

Or (previous post) ..... it's a West Yorks thing!

If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anyway

I'm also with Pipex and have recently started getting these stock emails with the pictures embedded in the body as files. I'm using Outlook 2003 and Spambayes but the plugin doesn't seem to be working as it doesn't seem to be able to detect these and has accidentally marked one or two of my legit emails as spam.

I used to get a lot of spam a long time ago and Spambayes was fairly effective back them - I have since discontinued use of those email addresses and haven't got any since then. Do you think it is worth resetting the Spambayes database so that it can start from scratch on these new ones?

The stuff in the body and subject lines is always random so filtering by rules and using keywords and phrases is difficult.

Thanks Spurs1234 - following this posting eventually leads to an article showing how to report investment spam to the US Stock Exchange. I suggest we all do this and see if anything happens.
  • I get these too but Gmail automatically recognises them as spam and puts them into the spam folder which is easily cleared with one click.
