A mate of mine has offered to sell me his contract mobile phone as he is hard up for cash.

Chances are he will possibly not even be able to afford the contract, where does this leave me will the phone get blocked if he defaults on his contract??

Don't touch it with a bargepoll.

    Get your own contract.

  • It might depend on what network you're on, but I don't believe it's standard practice to put an IEMI bar on the phone if a contract is defaulted on, it's usually a case of barring the SIM then cutting them off and then selling the debt onto a debt collection agency.
