The only attention seeking I can see from this thread comes from you and DvardysShadow who to their credit has deleted their posts and appears to want to get this thread back on track to the initial concerns of the OP.

Tbh having read the thread in full (I tuned out for a while) I really think people should stop encouraging Gwen and ask her to move on.

The fact is regardless of whether he did it or not there has to be proof and its turned out as I predicted that they would never be able to uphold a grievance or criminal case for exposure as it was her word against his.

The e-mails are less serious but obviously both were guilty of taking part. If I get an inappropriate e-mail at work I delete it immediately.

I suspect Gwen should be looking how she moves on from this rather than appeals etc.

It is not very often that I agree with MrRedundant. However, on this occasion he is absolutely correct and is to be congratulated for summing this whole saga up so concisely.

Thinking of you today Gwen - all power to your elbow lass.

So - hope the appeal will go well - and, if the worst comes to the worst, and the firm rejects that - remember "Its not over till the fat lady sings" - and ask your Union Official/legal advice service/etc which way to proceed if the firm does reject it.

For right now - at the end of Stage 1 of the process so to say - a quick review of the "positives" to date:

1. You have your self-respect intact - you've stood up for yourself.

2. You are proving a good example to other people not to put up with such conduct and others will be able to learn from your experiences as to how to best proceed with people like this.

3. You will hopefully have prevented this man from pursuing this way of acting towards people. Thanks to you - then maybe you have helped avert a nastier incident happening to someone else in the future.

4. If he does create any further such incidents in the future for anyone then you have "put a useful marker on his card" for:
- your employers
- the police

as they will have the evidence from a previous person (ie yourself) that he is capable of this sort of thing.

5. You are clearly gaining in confidence. Many people havent come from a background where confidence comes with the territory. Some people are "born" confident because they come from a background where there is the money to "smooth many obstacles in life". Others are "confident" because THEY come from a background where they've been taught to be hard-faced/barge their way through regardless.

Many of us though don't come from either of those backgrounds. There are many of us somewhere in the middle between those two backgrounds - and we have to learn/teach ourselves to be confident. You are learning well Gwen.

Be proud of yourself and hold your head high.
