    Yes.

These are handwritten notes. Not even typed up. Just scanned in and emailed as a document. Therefore I'm inclined to think that no notes were taken for part of his meeting.
Or that they contained information you are not privileged to see. Perhaps personal details of another witness, colleague or relative.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

As I said they are handwritten notes, so not typed up. It appears that nothing was written for that part of the meeting (it is halfway down an A4 page). Nothing is 'missing' from my notes.

According to the 'Global Compliance Investigations Information and Principles' an attending observer (on your behalf) cannot answer for you, offer his or her own comments or interfere with the interviewer's questions. His ex-manager who accompanied him posed the question to him 'if Gwen had explained that she thought you had an erection, would you have responded differently in your email?' She also asks for details of the accusation. *shakes head*
Sorry for asking a question that has probably asked and answered, but what industry is your company in and how many people does it employ?

I'd rather PM you if you don't mind.

OK, thanks for clearing that up Gwen.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

I'm sorry if this sounds selfish, but I think we've all got Miss D's number now. She is infuriating, I must admit, but please, I would really appreciate some help. Please don't think I'm ungrateful for the help I've received so far, I'm not, I don't know what I'd do without this thread (even with the Miss D's and sho_me_da_money's of this world). It has provided an outlet to me, when I've needed it and a very valuable source of information. Miss D seems to have her own agenda, please don't let Miss D take over this thread.

Good, that's what MSE is for - it's a source of information, advice, knowledge and support.
Just a thought - if the union rep has a working relationship with either you or the bloke, then it might be best to ask for a rep outwith that to avoid any bias.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks for the reply & I shall now ignore your legal judgement on someone elses legal judgement.

I am not currently a member of a union. Do you think I can join one now or will they only assist me with cases that occur after I've become a member?

  • Hi Gwen

Sorry to hear things haven't been straightforward. More hugs!

I do think you should have someone independent with you if possible, or at least to talk through it. Is there a manager there who you do trust? And did the police put you in touch with Victim Support?

I do think from some of your earlier emails you are probably finding a delayed reaction. I'm pretty sure that's normal (it took me almost 24 hours to start shaking after the flatmate with knife incident) but do try to look after yourself. You've been fabulously brave and whether or not you get the result you deserve, you know you did the right thing and have stopped him.

We're still here for you (hopefully some of the less useful additions will fade out) so rant away or puzzle or whatever you need.

If it assists anybody with the advice they provide, I'll just say that it is a large, global company.
