Only certain BBC radio programs are made available for download - check the podcast section.
If you don't mind using third party tools, iPlayer Automator should work on the Mac.poppy100 -
Thanks, the programs I want to download are not in the podcast list, what now? I don't need a PC! I can download TV no problem, it is just radio that does not seem to have this facility on BBC iPlayer. It used to be easy to record a radio program onto a tape and listen to it in the car later! Now cars have CD players and I can't copy programs onto them. AAARRRGGGHHH

Sorry I was being "funny(ie not serious)" when I suggested PC , surely the link Poppy suggested is ok , it uses Perl i believe , so you should be able to save it ? I dunno really, I don't have a Mac so I have can't comment on the ins and outs, is there not any help on the Mac forums/BBC forums , or it is not possible to record it onto an external device?4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Yes I have downloaded it but when I open it it simply goes to BBC iPlayer and there is still no way I can see to download a radio program.
Perhaps I am being a bit thick at this end of the day!0 -
Hmm there doesn't seem to be a legal way, short of recording from the line out/headphone socket much like the old fashioned sticking it on to a cassette? Some one will advise though:D4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 + Octopus Flux leccy0

If you still can't work it out, I'm afraid I'd have to echo debitcardmayhem and suggest you get a proper computer. Radio Downloader works flawlessly for me, I can download any program available on Listen Again, but it's Windows-only.poppy100 -
#There is plenty of ways. Use audacity and use 'What im listening to' which will record it but make sure that nothing else you use has any sound on it.
I use total recorder in the same way that is free but only for 15 days but you can delete it and download it many times.
Or you can use this http://mac.download3000.com/download-iplayer-downloader-6754.htmlone of the famous 50 -
Audacity is probably the only way. Just play the audio stream as normal, and record it in "real time" using Audacity.
I vaguely remember reading that although it would be illegal to break the DRM on downloaded/streamed content, it might not be illegal to record the output of your soundcard for your personal use. I think there was a reference to a legal "fair use" under the legislation that first allowed people to record broadcast TV programmes onto video tape. I've no idea whether that's true, but thought I'd mention it!0
