Dixons could they have pulled a fast one

Last week ordered a 42" LED tv from Dixons for £699
Today TV turns up but instead of a LED it is a plasma TV. OH queries this with them and they said `it's what you ordered` and indeed when he looked at the email it did say `plasma`.
He is really sure he ordered the LED and when he goes on the website the one they have just sent is £599 and not £699.
Have you ever heard of them switching an order and altering the confirmation email, because that is the only thing we can think of.
We have since decided to keep the plasma if they are prepared to refund £100.

Of cause not, mistakes happen though, if you don't want it send it back if you do then keep it.0

What's more likely, that your husband had a couple of TVs in his basket and removed the wrong one before ordering, or that someone at Dixons manually intercepted your email confirmation, changed it for whatever reason, and sent you a different telly?

A 42 inch LCD you say - They're usually 40 inch, and Plasma is usually 42. What was the make and model that you ordered?0

It is probably the usual incompetence on the part of Dixons, they sent me a Gas Hob, when I ordered an electric one.
I have no gas.
Never bothered with them since.0 -
We put it to them yesterday that we would keep the plasma one if they refunded the £100 and were told it would take 3 days for them to considerd this proposal.
I sent off an email to the Chief Exec. last night about this. The reason I emailed him direct, was because when you go on the website there is no facility to actually send an email only lots of options which you have to choose from.
Anyway it did the trick and this morning we have had two phone call from them agreeing to refund the £100.0 -
Great result.:T0
