Gf's Mum's Boiler broke-any grants/loans available?

Hi there,
Unfortunately my gf's mum's water boiler has cracked and subsequently flooded her bedroom. She hasn't been able to pay the last few installments on her insurance (i know, i know!) so is well and truly 'up the creek', so to speak. She works for the minimum wage but is not contracted to full time hours so gets tax credits and child benefit for her 12 yr old child.
Please can anyone tell me if they know of any grants or similar to help anyone such as her?
Ps- am i right in thinking that new boilers cost £800 +

The only obvious one is the warmfront grant.

Sadly though they make you wait around 6 months or more before you get it.

Hi, just out of interest, if someone cancels their house insurance, this doesn't make affect their mortgage does it?

The Mortgages forum is a much better place for this question.

It was announced this week that Warmfront will not be doing any work until April next year due to funding by the government ......
