Good phone to Teach 70+ yr old Texting

PistonBroke_2

Hi i'm looking for a pay as you go Phone for my Mum who as the title says is over 70 & would like to learn to text as so she can speak to my Sister in Dubai.

I'm willing to spend upto £75 on a phone but really have no idea what PAYG networks are good & what sort of a phone to get either

Any recommendations really welcome.

The Doro 410 is a good phone for the elderly.
It features a clear screen, flashing light to show a text message has come in.

It's not cheap, though. £80 at onestopphoneshop plus a £10 topup on Orange PAYG. Alternatively, it is free if the £5/month tariff is appropriate (50 mins and 50 texts). Downside is that it's a 36 month contract but there is £30 quidco cashback available and a free replacement phone after 18 months.
