definitley not true, I have a tiscali email address from years ago which I currently receive into my mail client and I use Be broadband.
The post
I read in another thread that tiscali emails can only ever be sent through a tiscali connection,
Is true the word is SENT you can receive Tiscali and i am sure you cannot send via Tiscali if you do not have a Tiscali account .
If i want to send Tiscali i can send from Tiscali web mail but not a PC email account . Though i can send a reply to a Tiscali message from the same email client account using current account as outgoing sender .
INMAIL .. Tiscali
OUTMAIL xx current ISP .

You cant send via tiscali, using their smtp server (I suppose it is talktalk now), but I can still send emails that will have my tiscali email address in the 'from' field using the Be smtp server. There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0 -

That's exactly what I'm trying to do - I've put the details from the screen shot you sent but it's still failing.
Would you be able to write down the incoming mail server as well. Sure the outgoing is ok as that's what I'm using for the rest of the accounts.
I don't intend to use the Sky account, but want to download things as I guess this is how Sky communicate changes etc.

I'll double check when i get home tonight how I have my email setup but the incoming server should be:
pop.tiscali.co.uk
which is what you used so slightly confused. There's no sense crying over every mistake.

Thanks for your help, BackonTrack.
Still can't get it to work with these details.
Not sure what else to do now (apart from get stuck in and change all details over to gmail account
)
Thanks anywayNow proud Mumto3 :j0 -
In your email setup you need to set your incoming mail to your Tiscali settings as you had them before, probably POP3, username, password etc - because you are still downloading from tiscali.
The Outgoing mail is different as you are trying to use Sky's server, so I would try with SMTP (smtp.tools.sky.com), but it will probably need authentication set - but not the same settings as incoming - you need your Sky credentials for this (it's their server). Try port 25 first, and if that fails try 465, and tick the box that outgoing needs SSL encryption.
If you are still struggling, post which email client you are using.0
