lynx gifts sets stink but teenagers love them lol
    Do they, though?

OP, do you know how underprivaledged we're talking? Not much good giving an Amazon voucher to a homeless teenager, or a wallet with cash to a drug adict. But equally a blanket and some tins of food might not be appreciated by someone whose family are just running a bit short this year.

Few things off the top of my head

Aftershave (can get some quite nice ones sub £20 in Boots etc)
    Football?
    Kit bag
Pyjamas - tshirt and trouser ones are good for teenagers
Shed load of chocolate/junk type food, teenagers eat A LOT!
Magazine subsciption token (sold in whsmiths amongst others)
Skateboard and pads cost less than £20 in argos
radi controlled lambourghini (argos again £13)
single duvet cover set with a nice design
    bean bag
    watch
paperjam guitars are sub £20 (according to the gadget show)
    Lava lamp

like was mentionned it kinda depends how under privileged they are, some of the things i listed I think are just nice for a kid to be able to have a decent set of (such as duvet) to make their surroundings nicer, other things are just cool gifts (like paperjam guitar)....

Nothing specific to suggest, but - something to make them laugh, something to make them smell civilised, something to make them feel cool, something to make them feel grown up young men.
Not vouchers - nowt worse than a voucher because you know darn well the person giving it couldn't be !!!!!d to figure out a gift that would bring a smile to your face and and put a spring in your step.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • The gifts go to children in care, in refuges and families on very low income or living in hostels.
  • No suggestions but wanted to say how nice of you to do this.:T:)
    :heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:
  • I've reserved an Adidas Champions League Football 924/2584 from Argos. I was also thinking of the game Risk. What do you think?

risk is quite an adult game from what i can remember......

if theyre living in hostels et, i would go with pants, socks, t-shirts, maybe a sweater/hoody, or what about a nice coat (try primark).
if low income families i would go with something more gamey, or maybe something to help with school, like a nice bag, some cool stationary....
You could also try on freecycle for games etc that people are throwing out, old tv's, stereos, personal cd players etc....just something they can have to call their own....

My teenage boy is hoping for a flavour of pot noodle that he hasn't tried before - he's easily pleased!

Most of the teenage boys I know are pleased with something edible. firebox sell a chocolate pizza :)

I realise it's not as useful as the other gifts suggested, but when buying for a relative of my husband's I tend to go for things like that because I don't know what he already has, and he's a chav so I have no idea what brand names he likes.

Why? What's he done to annoy you?

Sorry, Zaksmum, I've only just come back to this thread...

at the time of typing he'd left his new winter coat (less than a month old and a really nice one from the Debenhams sale) at school. This was just 3 weeks after 'losing' his new school shoes (I know, he had PE last lesson and came home in trainers) and blazer (which have since been replaced, blazer by me, shoes from his pocket money.)

When my husband went to the school to look for the new coat in the lost property box he didn't find the coat as DS had actually bothered for once to look himself (I'd threatened him with no Christmas presents if he didn't and he knew I meant it) but did find the blazer and the shoes as well so now we have 2 of them

    Sometimes I despair...
