Mobile still under warranty?

Hello Moneysavers,

I was on contract with orange earlier this year and lost my phone but didn't have insurance. They said I could have a replacement phone if I paid 40 quid and started paying the monthly insurance premium so I did. A month later my contact expired and I joined easymobile but now the phone has developed a fault. Is the phone supplied still under warranty? Do they have to supply a replacement as they did charge me for it?

a phone is warrentied for at least 12 months from date of manufacture by the makers so repair should be no problem
nokias now have 24 months warrenty
you may have to get it done at service center though

as do sony ericsson handsets (but accessories like the battery and headset only have a 1yr warranty)
