Hi guys,
I have a new iphone4 and want to insure it for the works - loss, theft, accidental damage etc.
I obviously want it to be as cheap as possible - any advice?
Thank you!
Emma

Mobile phone insurance ! The only thing that will vary to any other phone insurance I suspect will be the premium. If you are careful, you should not need phone insurance, but everybody is different

I definitely need it but I was wondering if people know the cheapest and best providers?0

How could someone know if they are the best unless they have tried several? The premium is not going to be cheap, not because of the handset, just that there will be false claims and the load has to be absorbed by other users
How do you know you will need it , are you planning on losing your handset before the iphone 5 comes out? :eek:0 -
I thought some people may be able to recommend ones. I thought that that was what a forum was for? If not, I guess I will just go in blind.0

At the side it shows how many have looked at the thread, 15 when I just last looked, problem with the thread, is that you ask for best, there is no best, and you mention iphone 4 (it does not make you an extra special person to own one)
There are many threads on phone insurance and the pitfalls, it is that you should more look into, is the premium going to cost more than buying a refurb or previously owned handset?0 -
i also just upgraded to a iphone .. and was looking too.. found this:

It is relevant though as some insurers and policies only insure up to a certain value. I can't see anything of value added to the thread by you, you just seem to relish in talking down to a newbie.
Check if your home contents covers it first - if it does ask to add 'away from home' cover to your possessions. It will be far cheaper per month than traditional mobile phone insurance.0 -

Not talking down a newbie, there have been plenty of phone insurance threads, some even include as you say to check home contents insurance covers this. In all honesty with the views vs responses, I think many have cottoned on to the fact it is just a thread for the originator to say, " I've got an iphone 4"
As it seems odd that they are absolutely sure they are going to be using it, it is not cool to be clumsy I'm sure you agree.0 -
I disagree with the last poster. I am looking for get a an iphone and the end of my contract and for the first time I'm looking to get insurance.
With my past phones (I lost my phone on a night out just a few months back), I just replaced it at the cost of say £50. But I couldn't fork a few hundred pounds to replace an iphone if it was lost or stolen. So I think the OP is asking a fair question.0
