As you are not 16 I suggest you might help your grandmother to heat her house.

She stopped working as soon as she was found out, so has no wages. She's saying that her CTC was stopped at same time as her as her Income support as she never told tax credits she was working either. I have told my gran not to give her anything, but knowing her she will still keep giving it to her. Really annoyed at the fact my grans being left with nothing to look after her self with.

they shouldnt have stopped her tax credits just readjusted it to see whether she owes money.

this issue would have been dealt with by now and her sanctions be implace, i.e gone to court or had her benefit decreased in order to pay back the money defrauded from IS, start testing and making this awkward for her to find things out. get her to call CTC infront of you gran, and is, offer to help by going by helping through paperwork and booking an appoiontment with CAB and going down the JCP with her to support her. say your concerned for her child and want to help get things rolling for her to have money of her own for christmas.
  • i suppose in a way yes she has been commiting fraud as she hasnt declaired a 16hr+ job. her tax credits shouldt be affected as in stopped just re adjusted to see whether she owes them money tax credits is not dependable on whether you get a benefit. how long has this been going on for, has she been interviewed? offer help by taking her into JCP and hopfully get it all done and dusted so she can get her money,

ahh october. it should have been cleared by now so yeh i'd say she's extracting money on the basis of family hardship with your gran

She's saying she has had nothing from them since October, I don't believe that they would leave her with nothing for all that time. They must have timescales they have to deal with these things in. However I can't find any information on the net about how long these times would be

Well said, you have been getting some very odd replies to your post just asking for some guidance and advice. If I were in your position I would speak with your sister and find out what is really going on.
Your nan cannot afford to be giving her this money by the sounds of it.

It's my cousin not my sister, I don't have any way of contacting her as when I was very young there was a family feud between her mum and my mum and they haven't spoken since. I asked my gran for contact details but she says she doesn't have them, my cousin just turns up every week to see her. Different days and times, so can't even go there knowing she's going to turn up on x day at x time

benefit fraud can take a while, as they have to gather all the evidence and they would go through things with a fine tooth comb, the IS would be suspended pending the fraud investigation and then it up to fraud if the suspension can be lifted or the claim closed and your cousin would have to make a new application, she would also have to prove that she no longer works ie p45/letter from ex-employer etc, it will also depend on how long IS take to process the fraud file.
