So here it is, Last thursday I use my Nat West card to top up my phone via o2, works fine and done. Today I come to order something from Amazon and they say they cannot process my card, same with Game and Zavvi!? I don't understand why this is, Would it be worth seeing if I can withdraw money from a cashpoint? Any ideas???

Maybe the wikileaks supporters are still going hammer and tongs, trying to crash amazon, Visa and MasterCard.0

There were problems earlier today with the RBS/Natwest online banking, perhaps it is related to thatDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

Yeah I don't think I am the only one then?! See what tomorrow brings as well. The NatWest Online bank app wasn't working also earlier, perhaps something has gone kaput! Thanks everyone!0

They seemed unwilling to help when i contacted them! My branch only opens twice a week aswell, and as they seem to insist in contacting your own branch, it can becomes VERY difficult! Fingers crossed it goes back to normal!!!!!!!0

This happens to me occasionally - we use O2 for mobiles (PAYG, top up maybe £5 or £10 a month) and 3 for broadband (mobile dongle for home use - £15 to £25 in a month)
What tends to happen occasionally is that some transactions begin being declined for no obvious reason.
If you call the bank (Halifax, in this case) the person you speak to can see the auth attempts and the declines, but can't quite piece together why.
If you persist you then get put through to the fraud department who will then confirm the card has a partial block on it, so e.g. petrol station works (in person) and online doesn't.
That happens because an auto defence system kicks in which thinks that top ups - especially if close together - for more than one mobile network = possible fraud
The block then gets lifted and the card works again. This has happened to me 3 times so far.0
