Ebay is both a blessing and a curse. There's that great bit where the money comes in and you're like OOOOH! Pounds! And then the bit where you have to pack up all the stuff and lug it to the PO and stand in a queue for ever. And where you've massively underestimated your postage (my piece de resistance) so you lose out on a chunk of your profit. And then two months later when the annoying person in Australia complains they havebn't received their package and even with proof of recorded international delivery paypal still finds in their favour (because the buyer is always king on ebay) and so you have to pay back money that you've already spent.

And, breathe. Seriously though. Time and again I ask myself why I do it. At the moment I'm trying to sell two huge lifesize doctor who standup cutouts that we had for my son's birthday - getting them to the post office is going to be a nightmare!
  • I tend to stick to things like DVDs and CDs, they go in an envelope, large letter stamp, bingo

Yeah, they're good but I don't have any of those to sell! Plus they don't make so much money. I usually sell top-end cosmetics as I can get them through my work very cheap, but occasionally I have other things to sell too. We're planning to go through our loft at half term so there will be a whole load more weird stuff to get rid of, I'm sure...

Well paid off £350 to biggest credit card debt today so hopefully clear it soon. Iv had a big wake up call that there is only 1 thing holding me back and that is my debts.... Total now at £659 paid....wanting to pay another £6k on top of that!

so first step is clear the 2 cards - total now of about £1100 for the 2....

with a bit of work and a stretch...should hopefully be gone end of March...

Iv also looking into handing back my car that has outstanding finance....i can hand it back in October at no cost...so im going to! This will free up £240.30 a month+!! May look into getting a work van...if not il buy my own van...just a cheap one though!

So hopefully for next year i will have freed up £500 i have been paying to debts -what a waste!!!

Here we go, 2011, big changes so far, alot more to come!
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

That's why I don't sell on ebay, and why I refuse to use paypal for any transactions. They're "conflict resolution" is an absolute joke and has put me several hundred pounds out of pocket in the past finding in favour of buyers who claimed they never got packages that were showing as signed for with royal mail, and for which I provided proof of postage! I always use amazon to sell stuff now, or gumtree for weirder stuff.

Back on topic, also counting down the days to payday a) because I'm broke after overstretching on the debt repayments (but worth the discomfort!) and b) can't wait to knock another £700 off my debt!
