Hope snow doesn't affect everyone too much and put us off our debt busting!
Those who are building savings as their challenge ..any ideas as to what to do with it? Separate account so can easily see progress? What do people find as the best motivator?
Best of luck to all!:T
We are indeed
Not having any savings myself, I'm not best qualified, but I think I would have a separate account so I could see exactly how it was growing. My debt to my DH I am paying into a separate savings account for him, and when it reaches a certain figure (not including interest) I will know I've paid him back. It just shows me at a glance how far I've got.

Fizzypops, don't feel like a cheat. Debt is debt, and at least you realise you are falling down a slippery slope (not literally I hope during this cold weekend!
) before it gets too bad.
I think this thread is wonderful - we will all cheer each other on throughout the year and I am actually looking forward to January when I can really start battling through! There is no need to feel a cheat fizzypops, your target is going to be just as tough as anyone elses. If this challenge helps you become debt free then that is a huge achievement!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi Ruby, it's entirely up to you. I've added you to the list with 'as much as you can', but if you want to change it to a figure then just let me know"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
