Number 37 calling in for the final time in the 2011 thread
Well I did not make the full amount - but I did pay off£ 29,473 / £31, 000Since I started with MSE in Dec 2008 I have paid off all the credit cards, really made a dent into the mortgage. I aquired a car loan during 2011, but this will be paid off during the 2012 challenge. The figure above is all captial reduction - I never counted the monthly interest payments, but I counted all my debts including the mortgage payments. I will do this again next year as it works well for meHave a great christmas and see you all over on the 2012 thread! My life0 -

Thanks Sarah, I have not used my salary (and part of my husbands) at all since I started this in December 2008. We decided then after buying and completely rebuilting our forever home (hence the huge mortgage and credit card debts) that we would throw everything at it and be completely free within 6 years.
We are exactly at the half way mark this month (both in time and debt reduction). Not sure if my job will carry on too much longer (public sector) - but thats another benefit of spending the last three years living off one salary - if it happens we will be ok.
Dont forget my figure includes the mortgage payment (minus the interest) - so I expect everyones would seem big if they included theirs in the total!!
