    Hi there,

Unfortunately, I have now added to my debt to the tune of £448, for a new laptop. I bought through Very, which is on interest free for a year, so that's not too bad. Should be scrubbed off pretty soon. For now, though my total is 3857 paid, total 5701.46. Hope all's well out there, wherever you are....

    payday on tuesday x hurrah

  • Well I might have transferred my outstanding CC balance to a 0% deal (I say might because it asked for the expiry date on the card and I don't know it, so guessed and won't believe it's worked until it's moved!!) anyway, if that works, then I won't have to start paying interest this month which would be nice! I've only got £385 on the CC though and have a £600 overdraft, so if I know the CC stuff will be zero interest for the next 16 months I can near enough ignore that, focus on my OD and hopefully still have them both paid off by Feb next year at the latest...?

I have managed to pay £435 off my debts this month, but I can't see that happening in the run up to Christmas!! I haven't bought ANY presents yet, or started getting any food in...

Still I'm happy with the way things have gone this month overall :D Better to whack a chunk off my credit card than worry about gifts just yet - there's still 63 days to think about that! :D
  • Another update for this month. Paid 20 off the credit card. This makes my new total 2214.89. Couldn't resist paying a bit extra off to make the total og CC1 under 100. CC2 is now on interest fee for 14 months which means it will be paid off this time next year as long as OH keeps paying off 100 a month.

  • It seems to be getting quieter and quieter which I guess is due to a fair number of people reaching their targets, but its nice to see the hard-core lot still around though!

Nothing to update from me till pay day on Friday sadly :(

Well done Jacci on all your daily payments!

  • Grrrrr.... just checked OH's online statement as sometimes his pay goes in a bit earlier and it's a great deal more in the red than it should be!

When I first started cutting back and tighening things so we could pay off this debt at the end of the year I actually took his debit card off him as he just couldn't seem to stop himself spending. But over the past few months he's been a lot better so he's had it back and I even told him he was allowed to spend whatever was in his account as long as he didn't go into his over draft (since as soon as his pay goes in I transfer most of it out anyway).

Well, I think as this month he had to pay a couple of hundred on car repairs which has pushed him into the red he seems to have thought 'What the hell, in in the over draft anyway, what the hell...'.

So, adding everything up he's spent £150 on random lunches and the odd beer after work and taken £150 out in cash! Ok, £40 of that would be for train/bus fair but £150??!!!

I am so angry with him. Why do I have to treat him like a child and just give him £20 cash at the start of the month and say 'That's it'. He can't seem to understand that most of his friends live with their parents and none of them have kids, thats why they can spend like that but we can't!

Sorry. Just had to vent somewhere!

Suggestions of how to make him pay when he gets in from work would be gratefully received.
