Happy New Year everyone "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
That sucks jwil - hope you're being paid extra for the privilege!
Called and paid off my finance today for my laptop and TV. £830 in total. That brings my running total to:
£1166.54/£5000 :j
and means I'm broke for the rest of January! Lol
The next few months will be much slower going, I just did a LOT of overtime in November that I've just been paid for. Don't think they'll be that much going until April - they always realise they're overbudget and cut all the overtime as the financial year draws to a close!DEBT FREE 3rd Sept 2011

Hi all,
Hope you don't mind another joiner, just in time for the new year.
It's a bit of a pathetic story really. With the help of some similar challenges I managed to clear my almost £30,000 worth of debt that I'd amassed via loans and credit cards a couple of years back now. So, what am I doing here you may wonder?
When i paid off my debt I had a nice car, but it cost a lot to run so I sold it and bought a much cheaper car to run - even ended up with money left over. Time went on and I convinced myself that I wanted something more flash, so used my perfectly good little car as a deposit towards a PCP agreement on £30,000 Mercedes. 12 months later I decided it wasn't fast enough so paid about £1000 plus the car to settle the finance and used pretty much all my savings (£2000) to put down a deposit on a sports car. I hated it and it was costing me a fortune - so again I settled the finance and got a sensible car again - which is fine, but because I spent all my savings is on finance.
Anyway - so I owe £11,000 on my car finance and then I've got £13,000 of student loan that I'd like to see the back of.
My aim for 2011 is to pay off the car, so put me down for £11,000 please - and the student loan can be the job for 2012!
