Wow, I've just seen some tumbleweed float by. Where is everyone? I had to hunt down the thread .

I shall have to lead by example and find some money to put towards a debt now :D

  • Hi, paid off the normal loan repayments taking the total to £12,091/£13,000 so hope to storm my goal next month, but not paid anything extra this month other than the minimum - need to learn to say no to things! That said, we have had to pay for our holiday and off with the in-laws so the cost is halved! x

  • Got back from the IOW festival yesterday - VERY unlikely I'll have any spare money for the rest of the month

I'm still reading the thread and checking on other's progress but until next Friday I think I'm done for June! :rotfl:
  • Hi folks
Well, having paid off my co-op loan and feeling quite proud of myself along with all the crap stuff that has gone on over the past few months (the death of a close family member, feeling like I am constantly running to just stay afloat all the time etc), I have booked a holiday and over spent big time on the credit card. It is this sort of behaviour that keeps me in debt. :o

Along with that I have been trying to start up my own business whilst still holding down a full time job and I am totally overwhelmed by it all. My work have agreed that I can go part time come August and I know that I do eventually want to leave alltogether and go for it with my business. The truth is I can't afford to completely give up yet anyhow no matter how much I can't stand going into work some days - and I need to be grateful that i do have this regular income.

Also I have been using earnings from my business to go towards debt repayment. So far I have made around £640 from my business and have none of this put away for paying my taxes.

Anyhow, I now need to add to my target the sum of £3,500 (now on the Credit Card) and £640 to be paid back to the business:eek::eek::eek:.

Please could you do that for me jwil? It is unlikely that I will have any OPs to declare until the end of the month when payday comes around.
Best of luck to all other DTWs on their journey too.
    Al x

Will be back soon once I have a good look at things and work out a realistic plan of paying off my debts without racking up more!

I've been lurking too on this site, and finally decided to get registered for 2 reasons.

Anyway, I sorted myself an awesome Spreadsheet to keep track of what we have coming in (and more importanntly what I have coming in) as we split everything 50/50 down the middle - bar little bits here and there! Just mainly bills and shopping etc.

So I want to join this as I "got the urge to purge" my debts ASAP.

So after balance transferring a few cards I have back when I brought my new car at the end of last year, I have left as of now (14/6/11):

    Card 1: [STRIKE]£300[/STRIKE] £0 (0% ending end of June 2011)
    Card 2: £1800 (0% ending end of August 2011)
    Card 3: £1000 (0% ending end of October 2011)
    Card 4: £1800 (0% ending end of January 2012)
    Card 5: [STRIKE]£195.70[/STRIKE] £0
Car: £19k @ £350 per month for 58 months, 2 other months at different costs for start and end payments (6 now done).

I just paid the one card off and the other one which had no special deals but I was using for a back up in case my bank balance went crap (over budgeting as usual).

With my sheet in place, I now can work on the other 2 cards. All I need to do is balance transfer Card 2 and then pay £250 per month on Card 3 until October, and the same with Card 4 (except can pay £500 per month when Card 2 is paid off).

This leaves my car and what I really need help on. I'll be posting another post for that. But please add me to this list. £5000 before Christmas (including the £495.70 I just managed to pay off!!)

    Hi laze and welcome!

£300 op to First Direct for me courtesy of some money that came in earlier than expected for DH's gigs (poor DH. He never sees his gig money!)
