Have no extra payments to report just wanted to drop in and say hi!
Didnt make my MBNA target of under 4000 ....got it to 4036 .... damn interest...grrrr.... will stay positive and instead aim for under 3500 next month.
Am I the only one wishing weeks away so it can be the next payday!! roll on Thursday and I'll total up before months end.
You've got very close though wigwam so you should be able to smash it next month.
Yep I'm always counting down the days to payday as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Morning all
Back to work this morning after nearly 2 weeks off. Anyhow forgot to post my normal payment of 100.00 to cap one which came out while we were on hols. Adding it to my total today makes it:
2997.32/10,000
Hope work is not too painful today boysma, it's always horrible going back."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
littlemonkeymorgan wrote: »Wow what a crazy week! having a newborn is chaotic! but the good news is that in April we paid £417.07 off the debts, not bad as we had a £100 car bill and £50 vets too.
May is going to be even better I hope, am going ebay crazy and have already filled the freezer with lots of batch cooking, however its car insurance renewal month and our renewal just came in at over double:eek:
buuuuut......have already found one cheaper than last yearamazing as we were kind of banking on it being cheaper, or at least if it had gone up we would have had to think about giving up the car.
So fingers crossed that the car stays in one piece and nothing else pops up and we could be on for a good month.
Hope you all had a brilliant Easter and a got some time off in the lovely sunshine, right I am off to get all the laundry done and on the line before the rain this weekend....
Well done on reducing your debt with all of that going on. to increased car insurance though - glad you managed to get a decent quote elsewhere."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi everyone :wave:
Sorry I have been a bit quiet - trying to get on top of my workload before house move, easter and bank holiday weekend. Contracts arrived yesterday for signature so hopefully exchange will follow shortly.
Well done on all the debt busting - Suzie W - yours stands out in my mind - looks like you are on the home stretch now - what a fab feeling!
Travel safe Kavics and have a good time abroad.
Welcome to the newbies and many thanks again to Jwil for managing this task. It really really helps me knowing I have to come and 'report' back lol.
I keep a spreadsheet and then just give final balance after repayments/ extra payements / minus interest etc. So my balance at the end of April is :
£3,541 / £10,206
I still have the pesky MBNA but it is down to £460 so as soon as settled in new house will be making a concerted effort to get rid of that.
Enjoy the bank holiday weekend everyone:D:D:D
Hope you don't have to wait too long for completion Lam. Have a good weekend yourself!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks for all the updates everyone.
I'm due to be paid Friday, so I'm wondering whether that means I will get paid tomorrow instead. Not sure how it all works officially. I guess I'll find out soon enough though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thanks to some moving around of money and payment for some additional private work I have been doing, I managed to clear one of my two remaining loans, leaving just one which fortunately I can overpay as well as make the usual monthly payments. So Im now nearly 2/3 of the way there on the challenge and will be the end of all my bank loans.

Made my regular payment to my loan yesterday and my second overpayment of another £400 today. So I now stand at (drumroll please...):
£5401/£8283
and total debt stands at £2882/£15,800. Which is now 81.8% paid, getting there.
I have technically added to my debt this week because I lost my debit card so have had to put some stuff on the emergency credit card (OH was in yorkshire!). New debit card arrived today though so that'll get paid off straight away. This is why I decided an emergency credit card was a good idea! Such a klutz... :rotfl:DEBT FREE 3rd Sept 2011
