As tomorrow is the last day of the month (payday woo hoo!) any updates that are in before Midnight will be counted as March, and any that are posted after midnight will be counted as April as usual.

I will then post the monthly total on Friday.

  • Hi Folks
Well this has been some week so far. Just when I thought things were going well OH's car died. We are going to have to buy him a new one which means taking out a loan. This is where is becomes a visious cycle isn't it - where I don't have any savings and am trying to pay off debts.

Anyhow, not knowing what type of car we will get I have taken out a loan for £8K. I plan to spend less than this on the car though but still want to pay for a decent one that will last a few years. The last few cars that we have bought 'on the cheap' have not lasted very long. Any money that isn't used from the loan will go towards reapying it off quickly. In the meantime please can my total debt be updated to £17,000:eek:. I am looking forward to watching this go down.

And I will keep plodding on with my repayments but, at the same time allocate some money each month to start up an emergency savings fund so that this situation doesn't happen again.
  • Hi All

    No 142 reporting 1443/7800...

    Good luck all!!!
  • Paid another £250 off my debts so my new total is:

    £985/£3435

I'm still paying chunks off when I get paid (obviously!!) but I'm slacking on extra payments as I know I'll be done by the end of the year anyway - I need to find my motivation to do it FASTER!!

I've cleared a credit card woo hoo :j:j That's £150 to that, so very pleased to see the back of MBNA. There will be a small amount of interest next month, but then it will be closed forever :T

I've also paid another £295 this morning to other debts, but £250 is a debt which is not covered by this challenge and the other £45 is paying off something that was added to a credit card, so doesn't count here either.

Oh wow - well done - lucky you. MBNA is the reason I found this lovely forum and its my goal in the next few months to kill it! I am finally sub £1k on it lol. What a feeling eh? :T
