Hi all,
Ok so some nice person added me to this challenge :j
I was aiming for £9000 by Christmas but after some careful number crunching, al ook of shocked disbelief, a few smelling salts, another go at the numbers sever glasses of wine and finally a moment of pure realisation, our household debt stands at£31,168.64
I am also part of the pay off my debt by the Olympics group so I think as its 9 months till end of year and I have a number of small mountains to climb I am upping my aim to £15,000. (If that is ok)
However I aim to clear one of my debts by April 1st :A (Baby steps)
Not sure after that.

No problem jdwmfc, it's always an  when you first get that total isn't it. It's all downwards from here though! I've cleared a credit card woo hoo :j:j That's £150 to that, so very pleased to see the back of MBNA. There will be a small amount of interest next month, but then it will be closed forever :T
I've also paid another £295 this morning to other debts, but £250 is a debt which is not covered by this challenge and the other £45 is paying off something that was added to a credit card, so doesn't count here either."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Morning
just popped in to say that yesterday I updated my speadsheets and discovered I'm in position to overpay £100 per month. so, quick as a flash after work, I went to the bank and set up a standing order to pay £100 to MBNA starting 8th April !
It will knock at least 6 months of my credit card debt free date - will be mid-2014 instead of early 2015 - hurrah! :j2018 AFD 23/240
