Hi Jwil - can I be a pain and amend my total for the year to include my car loan. I have updated my signature - the total I have paid off this year is £5,184/£14,798.

Sorry I have amended both my total for year and my predicted (number 19)

Yep, no probs, I'll do it now :)

No, I think it's around 2,800. Or maybe 2,500. Can't remember now, seems ages ago. Just remember suddenly seeing I'd moved up in the MSE echelons!

Thanks! I've got a while to go before I reach those dizzy heights obviously. :)

I would consider whether you have any savings now, and what redundancy package you would get if the worst happens. If you get a decent redundancy package that would see you through a few months and/or have some savings, I would carry on overpaying. If not however, you should probably try and put enough away to see you through for a few months. If you do get another job quickly, you can always then put this extra money towards the loan anyway.

totally gutted but your right will get an okay package which is maybe 3 months salary so would be tempted to over pay but cuold put to one side and if the worst happens i have it then when i get a new job i can just pay it all on the debt x thanks for the advise x

Just paid my normal monthly payment off nasty CC and made an overpayment of £34.86.
Bring my running total to £1040.68/£6000

This month I managed to make overpayments on this CC alone of £297.86:j. This included using my free council tax and water month.
Back to paying council tax this month but going to aim high and try and achieve this again this month.

Can't wait to see the back of this card but still got a long way to go.

am pleased to say OH has some work lined up for next week. Fingers crossed it isn't cancelled or anything cos it will mean he can chip in with the shopping for a couple of weeks, freeing up £80-£100 of my wages to pay towards clearing my cc debt.
