Mass Texting Application?
Hi all!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I am looking for some mobile phone advice, specifically the software that comes in the package.
The mobile phone will connect to my PC. From this I would like to be able to use the phone manufacturers software package to send a batch of texts to various people in a press of the button.
Ease of use to create 'batch' groups, edit and update as appropriate would be a massive bonus!
Can anyone make some recommendations?
It is a necessity that the software is provided by the phone manufacturer i.e. no third party software!
Cheers,
Coeus.

If it's for personal use, you can create groups and send messages to the members on some devices, for example the Android stock messaging App can do this.
If this is for a business, the professional method would be to use an SMS Gateway.
As Jon says, doing mass messaging through your own personal SIM has a high probability of being considered spam.0 -
Nokia PC Suite for example, allows you to text to small groups of people.
But I would echo the warning above, if you abuse your allowance there are some quite nasty consequences. eg. T-Mobile pay and go, if you text more than 200 different people in a month (or effect the service for others by sending bulk messages) your SIM is disconnected!0 -

Be very careful, mobile phone companies are on the watchout for people like yourselves with bulk sms. They monitor traffic for such effects and if it is deamed a breach of T's and C's bye bye sim, seen cases where they still had to pay the remainder of a contract even though cant use handset !0
