Don't buy from The Hut!

I ordered 2 items over a week ago and had no delivery note sent through to me, I emailed customer services once and the query came up on my accounts page. I went back a day later and the query had been deleted but I had had no response.

I sent yet another query yesterday and got no response so I finally gave up and hunted down their phone number, only to be told that my order had been cancelled as they had no stock!
What a hassle and added stress to my Christmas shopping as I now need to find replacement presents!

I would avoid this site, especially if you want something delivered in time for Christmas!
You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her <3 Big Bang Theory :)

I have used the hut several times with no problems.
    Come on you Irons
  • Again as with all the other threads on here everywhere is backed up quite badly due to the bad weather. They are trying to get on top of it but hard when there are so many parcels in stores and warehouses.

I wouldnt of minded slow delivery, it was the fact that they didnt bother to inform me, after over a week, that my order had been cancelled! I'd still have been waiting for my items on Christmas eve!

And I'm sure The Hut have provided a good service in the past or they wouldnt still be around, but I thought it worth mentioning my bad experience as i've never had this issue with other retailers such as Amazon etc.

  • I had trouble with The Hut. They suddenly, and without explanation, prevented me from ordering, asking me to phone their premium rate phone number to discuss. I believe it was a ruse to get money off me via their premium rate phone number. I never phoned and do not order from them any more; its their loss. Their prices for DVDs are much the same as Woolworths, Zavvi and other websites too.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I have just had the most impressive "computer says no" conversation with a girl at the hut today. I ordered 2 items in November, 1 has arrived, 1 hasn't. They now need to post (not email, nor fax, despite the fact one item has arrived, confirming the address if that is the purpose) a form for me to fill in, which I can then send back to them, and when they've processed that form, they will send out a replacement. Which will take up to 10 working days to arrive.

Had the most amazing conversation with her "you need to email it back, or summat? I don't know, it says on the form. " Girl didn't have a clue, and "not allowed" to put me through to her supervisor so I could actually get a clear answer.

I didn't know customer service could be THAT bad!

The Hut Group own Woolworths, Asda Entertainment, Zavvi, SendIt WH Smith Entertainment and probably a load more, that's why the prices are so similar. So if you buy of any of the aforementioned then The Hut are not losing your custom.

    You are not alone. :o
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • I agree with your post. They are only good however for the all you can eat. I once run up a bill of £30 for a family of 3 and was hounded to give tips. Also they are racist in some huts. I would much rather my local establishment as your not charged £13-£14 for a simple pizza, hope this jan when they have to up their prices they are cleaned out.
The harder one works the luckier one gets!
  • Well, after the effort of calling/emailing, only to find out 2 of my items had been cancelled, here I am, still waiting with bated breath for my final item to be delivered! I ordered on the 6th December and my dispatch note for the remaining item stated 10th December. Well it is now 22nd December and still no DVD!! I know the weather has been 'adverse' but the snow only started on the 17th! So what happened to my order in that week of perfect, clear roads??
I am so frustrated with this website, their customer service is shocking and the money has been taken out of my account so if my item doesnt come soon I'll have to raise a dispute about that which will probably take another 3 weeks to sort out!
I wouldnt mind but all my orders were xmas presents so if the DVD doesnt come by Friday I wont have a use for it anymore!
Seriously, avoid this site like the plague!
    Ok rant over :):)
