I arranged to meet up with a very good cyber-chum & my OH had fun for weeks saying she was going to turn out to be a fat bloke called Les, who's plan to groom me had worked! :rotfl::rotfl:

She did turn out to be very nice in person as well as on the interweb. :)

I'm hoping he same is true here - I'm sure it is. And it would be great to meet everyone else in the area, especially Mr Shopper as he hasnt been on here in a while. Is Glamazon still around?

After a flurry of shops last week (still can't believe I queued for 30 minutes in a trendy jewellery shop before an assistant snarled at me) it's been a quiet week and I only have one pizza delivery job to do before Christmas.

This has been my first real year doing mystery shopping and it's been fun! I did lots of historic places visits during the summer which were excellent and entertained the kids, that was definitely the highlight. Lowlight would be a pet shop where I had to express an interest in cats (I am very allergic to them), listen to an assistant rattling on for 30 minutes about fleas and ticks then write a huge report about how it made me feel.

    What are everyone else's lowlights/highlights for 2010?

    Morag

My highlights are always the monthly cinema audits. Even though I dont get to watch the film, I love going to the cinema. My lowlight was doing a clothing shop the day before I was supposed to. I've never made a mistake like that before (and again!):rotfl:

I'm spending the holidays in the area as it's my home stamping ground, but I'm not a grown up ;)

Well, I worked out that I've done 90% of my Christmas shopping for a total spend of £2, thanks to some very apt clients over the last couple of months

Just three more gifts to buy tonight (fabulous to work in a city centre with late night shopping) and I'm done. One pub dinner with my sister tomorrow and then a week off. Aah!

  • Can I add an extra question to my burger report for gap.....

On the scale of 1-10 how much did you stand out as a mystery shopper sitting in for the required length of time in the restaurant when the heating was broken and it was something like -5 deg in it?

Everyone else was sitting in their cars with the engine running eating their food but no I sat there on my own (with my jacket and scarf on) eating away whilst the staff cleaned the floor/tables around me, I swear I even thought one was going to offer me a balloon :rotfl: . At least the activity might have kept them warm for a bit.

You should put in your report that you feel the cabaret/floorshow is rather repetitive, mundane and bordering on the point of becoming ridiculous.

It's 2 years on NYE since I had the email from GYP telling me that my services were no longer required and from a quick look through my spreadsheets for the last few years I have done 30% less visits this year but nearly double the fee, I've lost 4 stone and no longer look like a flasher fidgeting about looking like i'm playing with myself when i'm actually recording stupid timings.

I think what i'm trying to say is I don't miss them.
  • Felt very conspicuous yesterday. Did a Gap drive thru chicken. All dealt with speedily until I asked for a receipt...
First of all the printer didn't work and said there was no paper but there was. Then another person arrived and said to write one for me, but they couldn't find the receipts. Server then went through back to find new till roll- no good. Then they tried turning printer on and off. unplugged it plugged it in again. Then all the staff started glaring at me. This was all in minus 9 temperatures. Eventually someone else turned up and asked why I wanted it.
Finally, 5 mins after I asked for it, someone managed to get one printed out but it had the wrong time on it. By then I wasn't caring.
Wonder if they guessed I was a mystery shopper?

Just had a look at my spreadsheet and it is about 6 months since I last did a normal fee one for them but I admit I am a sucker for the extra fees (plus the corner shops and stamps I can get out of them when they call me) and it is normally worth it but today was just about the end!!!

    I think you'll fit right in.......:p
  • School boy error. When I read that an alcoholic drinks assignment had to be completed between 9:00 and 11:00 I thought someone MUST have mistakenly put 23:00 in the system as a 12-hour clock time.

According to the proof readers, no, I really was expected to take part in a spot of early-morning drinking and won't be paid :(

    Never make assumptions!
