Credit score aggregated or combined for a mortgage

Hi -
My credit score is 470 (I missed 3 payments in 3 years and have been abroad so only on the electoral roll for the last 6 months).
My girfirend has a credit score of 750
Are our scores aggregated or combined? Either way, for first time buyers with a 20% deposit, how does it look?
Can I do anything about my lower score? They don't look so negotiable!
Cheers!

Hi - thanks but it doesn't answer the title question (that I saw).
Also, I think that the missed payments that have led to my lower score are pretty non-negotiable with Equifax?0 -
If I was a lender I would take the lower score.0

Hiya! My fiance and I are in exactly the same situation, my credit rating is 589 and his is pristine, we've spoken to the sinancial advisor in the estate agents and he is getting back to us tomorrow, he told us a 25% deposit would significantly imprve our chances, which fortunately we've got, but my credit rating is so bad (well on experian it says poor) i'm not olding my breath. Good Luck!!:)0
