If you spent as much energy trying to deal with your spending and your debt in the ways suggested on this thread as you do railing against the banks (who have no obligation to lend to you or anyone), you could get a lot done.

You haven't explained whether you tried to come to an agreement with wonga or just missed one month's payment and took out another loan with them to pay the first one.

You need to stop hoping that there's a magic answer somewhere. You didn't get the loan you wanted in 2005 or any of the other years. It might have solved everything, it might not, but you didn't get it. Accept that and move on.

Incidentally, how you can fail to realise that if you don't pay your insurance, you're not insured, lord only knows. There are other holes I could pick at but if you take this seriously and post an SOA as people have suggested, we could all have a go at really helping your situation.

There is no magic answer. It will be difficult. The sooner you accept all the help and advice you can get and get on with it, the better.

You're right, this is the year I tell my kids santa doesn't exist.
For several reasons, I sat my daughter down a few weeks ago and explained that we didn't have much/any disposable cash for Xmas and that for this year we would try a handmade Xmas.

We have been busy little bees and DD is really excited at giving and receiving handmade gifts! DS's understood too!

I made use of the Freebies little/no spend thread too.

You need to see CCCS or CAB asap for help as others have suggested.

I can understand your frustration but until you face up to your situation, it will never get any better.

    Good luck.

I also wouldn't have lost my license after crashing my car as I woudn't have defaulted on my car insurance and had to pay full expenses and go to court and pay charges there as I didn't realise whilst driving i wasn't insured.

I think this about says it all.

For the hundredth time it's been said on this thread - please stop blaming everyone else and get some proper help.

The way you're going one day the kids will have to tell you Santa doesn't exist.

    In case you missed it...

    hbos 200
    mbna 200
    barclay 100
    wonga 600
    mem 185
    pay day express 385
    bank overdraft charge 155
    bank overdraft fee 35
    TOAL: £1860

    My wage = £1900

    That leaves £40 ok.

Now I need to pay mortgage, electric, phone, shopping, travel

Where does that money come from? "Hello wonga, I am going to need all that money back I just gave you. How does earning another £150 in interest next month sound?"

I have NO problem controling my spending, you can't spend what you don't have.

Ok this is my last message, you people are clearly sharing the same dead braincell between the lot of you. To those who offered good advice, I applaud you...

    1. Open a basic bank account
    2. Move your wages to it
    3. Pay only the priority bills the full amount - mortgage, gas, electric, water, phone, food and travel to work costs.
    4. Send everyone else a letter explaining you are in financial difficulty and you can only afford a token gesture and include a £1 postal order
    5. Go to CAB or CCCS

Or continue as you are..... you and your kids go cold and hungry...... I know what I would do!

I honestly don't think there's much more that can be said on this one.
The OP has been given plenty of good advice that I've read, and so far it seems, chooses not to accept it but rather rant and rail at the banks, the system, those who are trying to help etc. Anger, denial, it's all there....

OP, you have 2 basic choices here:
    (1) continue as you have been for the last 5 years, digging yourself ever deeper into a hole you can't get out of, or
    (2) accept the advice given and start doing things differently from now on.

    Your call.

    4. Send everyone else a letter explaining you are in financial difficulty

We take home £3500 between the two of us each month, we are not in financial difficulty.

10 years ago we used to take home £850 between us and we were much better off, even with having a new baby to care for at that time.

I don't understand this. You can't pay your debts - that means you're in financial difficulty.

If you're not in financial difficulty and doing fine, then pay your debts!

If you are unable to pay your priority creditors (utilities, rent/mortgage) and are unable to feed your family then you are in financial difficulties.
I thought all your wage was taken by repayments, seems to me you have £1640 left per month. You could pay off the arrears on your gas bill and still have £1040 this month!
