VW Dane dealer wirral

  • VW customer care are pleasant and punctual. However they are ineffective , because they have no real control over their dealership franchises.

My mother, albeit a couple of years ago, went into her local VW garage at Halifax. She was dressed well and with my sister. They stood around for 15 minutes and noone even came close to ask anything. She fully intended to purchase a new car that day.

She left and then rang up and asked to speak to their sales manager. She told him what had happened and he was apologetic "come in and we'll do you a good deal "etc.

My mum just informed him that she he gone to his local rival dealership and bought a new car worth £15,000.

Never bought a new car myself but I would also be appalled by that service particularly as its such a high value item. Takes your money else where me's thinks, businesses shouldn't be in business if they treat customers like that.

Sounds like someone in the dealership got hold of the wrong end of the stick. They obviously thought you were just a timewaster ,will turning up for a test drive with no intention of buying not just prove them right. They wont mind sitting in a car with you for half an hour or so, you really will be wasting your own time not theirs.
If you really are intent on buying one just call up another dealer and book a test drive.
As for how you were dressed .Do you or anyone else still believe that sort of thing makes a difference .It doesn't

I turned up in a 06 plate golf that I bought in feb and have taken it there for a service. I have since found out after speaking to the old sales manager that the new sales manager and sales director have been brought in from lexus :/

I have had an email from VW cust serv re the situation as I felt that they had a right to know as it does not go with the VW brand.

They have emailed me back asking for my full address and car reg numbers so they can track the issue.

I dont care really how far I have to go as I travel the country with work. All I want is good service and have had that since day one with my old dealership so they will get the deal.

As the above poster said it should not matter if I turned up in a t shirt and jeans I or anyone is still a customer and should be treated as such. Especially when it costs so much and you have to wait till march to get it :D

Thanks for all your comments :)
