Defrag frequency

So, how often do you defrag your hard drive?

Got mine running on a schedule.

I leave it on during a Monday. It runs a full av scan, anti-spyware scan, does a defrag of each drive, and then runs any backups while I'm at work.

So weekly in answer to your question.

hardly ever, XP doesn't seem to have the same problems as before.

This has been recommended, it's an on the fly defrag tool that works much better than the built in one.

Almost never - there's scarcely any point these days.

I Only do a defrag once I have have reformatted and reinstalled windows and reinstalled the "Main" software.

Every week, maintenance day. Disk clean up. Virus scan, adaware removal, spybot and then defrag.
