661 texts from tmobile in 2 weeks - help!
Hi all,
Have had HTC Desire on t-mobile for 5 months now. I made use of the online phonebook backup service and 2 days later started to receive texts from t-mobie to say I hadn't registered for the service. I had over 300 of the same texts over one weekend and now (2 weeks later) have had 661 texts from t-mobile with the same message.
I have called 14 times now, it's been escalated to the highest level (apparently) and still no answer.!Today, a member of the customer complaints team called to say that it was being dealt with in Germany and that there is no way of telling me when the problem will be fixed. To use her exact words "how long is a piece of string? Could be one day, could be 3 months."
Now, t-mobile are asking how "I want to move forward" with the complaint. Do I ask for a brand new phone on a reduced tarriff as compensation for my (massive) inconvenience and put up with it till it's fixed!or do I say no thanks, i'll go somewhere else? T-mobile have said they will let me out of my contract for nothing.
To be honest, I can't be bothered with changing again but i'm getting 40-50 texts a day with no end in sight. What sort of compensation should I be looking at?
Anyone else got this problem?

I know you said you don't want the hassle of changing, but if I were you I'd jump ship, you've got one of the best phones out there already so you could go SIM only, pay a fraction of what you're currently paying, get the same and not be locked into a contract, that'll probably save you the most money in the long run and if they don't solve the problem you'll be able to leave at any time. If they're allowing you to end your contract you could maybe even move to SIM only with t-mobile as they'll handle everything for you and you shouldn't need a different SIM or anything (they'll basically just be changing the length of your contract to 30 days and changing you to a better tariff).
If you're happy to stay in the contract (then you're nuts! :P
) I'd try and get a few months line rental out of them as they'll be keeping you on the same contract and will be able to recover the cost of the handset and probably make some money off you at the end of the day (providing they solve the problem). 0 -
If you switch contract- I'm not convinced it would fix things unless it is a new number.
I'm on T-Mobile at the mo and still get texts from my previous operators about my online account!0 -
Thanks for the advice! Think I will jump ship and go to a more reliable provider!0
