Hi, hubby wants a new mp3 player.
I'd like to know people's recommendations.
I have the Creative Zen X-Fi2 which I like.
Just wanted to know if there were other recommendations.
Thanks

I like the creative zen as well but if you are willing to double your spend the ipod touch is really nice.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -
iPod Classic if you want the storage space. iPod Touch if you want a fancy touchscreen and iPhone features (but without the phone features

depends on whats most important
cowen if you want the best sound quality but usually has a fiddly interface
Sony for the next best sound quality, reasonable interface but can be as expensive as ipods
iriver or creative or sanse for reasonable sound quality, decent interface and usually cheapest players
ipod usually comes last in sound quality (out of the big players) but always scores top for interface and style (this isnt to say ipods have bad sound quality, it is just pointing out that they are generally not as good as the other big names)
all i can say is what ever you do put some budget aside for some good headphones as they can make a whole world of difference to any player http://reviews.cnet.com/best-budget-headphones/?!!!!!rb_content;contentNavDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Thanks everybody, price £220 max. 32gb storage. Sound quality needs to be good. Video not really necessary.0

You can get a brand new iPod Classic, 160GB storage for £160 direct from Apple.
Good sound quality from what I've been able to tell, plus you'll have enough money left over to get some really nice headphones. I've found the Sennheiser range to work well with the iPods.

iPod touch is my suggestion, if you buy it instore at HMV I think you get an (not sure amount) itunes gift card and an HMV giftcard and a speaker dock, I know these offers aren't on long before they change and I would expect this offer to expire soon, if it hasn't already.

I have had my Touch for nearly a year now and take it everywhere.
I also changed my headphones and got some Sennheisers.0 -
If I get an ipod, do you have to download through itunes?
Son has got an ipod touch but never uses it since he got his Blackberry!0 -

there's the ultimate money-saving solution there then - wipe the ipod touch and give it to hubby
..and itunes is complete pants as far as software goes (IMHO
) ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple
