for me and my boyfriend but I don't know where to start! We've previously been to Barcelona and to Lake Garda in Italy, and he's left it up to me to pick where we go summer '11. He's not into the whole Magaluf/Ibiza etc clubbing scene, but want somewhere thats fairly lively and not too expensive when we are there? Price isn't a worry at this moment, just looking for a few suggestions if anyone can help?! I'm 19 and he's 20, and we both like a drink (or ten!), so please factor that in when thinking.
Apologies if this is in the wrong thread/shouldn't have been posted. Had a look around but couldn't find much.

Kardamena in Kos, went there with my boyfriend this summer, plenty of bars etc to go in but not massively rowdy like the Magalufs etc x:j Growing Older is Mandatory, Growing Up is Optional :j0

Thankyou to both of you! Any more suggestions will help too! Think I'll get a few together and pick a name out of a hat, then start from there!0

Palma Nova or Santa Ponsa is a great alternative to the rowdy Magaluf in Majorca. They are both considered lively resorts but only a few miles away from the rowdiness and clubbing scene in Magaluf. In the case of Palma Nova it is just a 15 minute walk away from Magaluf.0

Take a look at the sourthen resorts of Tenerife Los Christanos and PDLA. Plenty of bars but not over the top. If it is a late spring/summer/autumn break good temps along with plenty to do on the island as well0

I stayed in Palma Nova when I went on a girls holiday earlier this year, was a tiny bit cheaper than staying in actual Magaluf, but I wasn't really a fan (and he knows how close it is to Maga!). but thankyou for your suggestion!0 -
How about Cyprus? Ive been there twice now and love it..athough we stayed in Ayia Napa both times we didnt go clubbing as there is some really nice cocktail bars and restaurants near the harbour. Aside from USA and Oz, Cyprus is my fav holiday destination. Would go back again in a heartbeat! Another place we considered going to is Olu Deniz in Turkey. Its on a blue lagoon and is dubbed the 'Turkish Riviera', my husband didnt fancy it in the beginning but when showed him the pics on google he thought it looked amazing. Good luck with the planning. We are going to Vegas in June and then driving to Holland and France in September...2 completely diff trips but looking forward to them equally!0

I'm half cypriot! I really should have listed more places that I don't want to go to! I love my family dearly, but I cant go and not see them, but going to see them is a pain in the a**e! Once you go to one persons house, you have to go to everybody's houses so no-one feels left out and upset and this has caused massive family issues in the past. But, again, thank you for your suggestion!!
However, Olu Deniz looks lovely, will have a look into it! Were already booked and paid to go on a short weekend to Amsterdam with about 20 of our friends, all driving and getting the ferry, so that will be an experience!0 -
Hey,
Have you considered Bulgaria (Sunny beach) the drinks are cheap esp beer....cocktail buy one get free some of the places we got them for the hotel bar (Jupiter hotel) very basic BB, the nightlife is amazing so many clubs, eating places, they have a lively promenade. If you fancy a day trip you can take the bus to Nessebar which has a nice coast, forts, eating out places, boat trips nice little day out. The capital is Sofia but 9 hours on buse which is kinda long so we did not go. We went in Aug the weather was nice and hot, go to Cacao beach which is more quieter but be warned there are nudist sun bathers there
.
good luck finding your hols

I would agree with MissyKay, Sunny Beach on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria is excellent. Plenty of bars and restaurants, lots of nightlife, great beach and relatively cheap compared to other european destinations.
Nessebar is a great day out and you can take the local bus there from Sunny Beach for only 1 lev (approx 40p). Sunny Beach has two waterparks - the best one being the one near Nessebar and there is a free courtesy bus to take you there and back.
Some of the older hotels in Sunny Beach are a bit grotty, so book a 4 or 5 star hotel in the centre of the resort and you won't be disappointed.0
