Pardon my ignorance but what does a garland look like? I have tried making wreaths a few times but never been satisfied. The one in the picture above is very good indeed. And! in my garden I have lots of evergreen plants - hollies, conifers, camelia etc etc. One year I picked up a circular thingy made of thin wood but still didn't get anywhere.0 -
i've never made a garland myself but i think you'd use a rope or thick wire to secure your greenery onto it. these are to wrap around stair banisters, line your mantelpiece, above your front door, or a centrepiece version to go on your dining table... if you follow the link i've posted then that'll will give you all the instructions. substitute the wire base for the wooden one you got.0

Absolutely stunning Dogstar. I bought two grave wreaths last week (for my mum's and nan/grandads graves) and they cost me £6 each and wasn't half as nice as yours. You could make a few bob from doing these to order I reckon.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0

yes, i did think about making a bit of pin money for next year. atm, i'm far too busy to make more, besides, i don't think the park warden (if there are such council staff about, are there?) would appreciate me coming in each morning for the trees daily trim!! my wreath took about 2 hours to make as it's quite an effort for the wire circular base to be made by my OH, and for me to make the bunches of stems and then to secure them all to the base...i've heavily hairsprayed the finished wreath 3 times as a fixative to keep the branches fresh and colourful.0
