made yesterday, using 'foraged' branches from the local park - eucalyptus, pine fir and cones and red and yellow pryacantha. the frame is made from a pliable type of wire that my OH made for me. normally, that would of cost about £1.25 but since i started my first wreath-making last xmas (moss, rowan berries and holly), i had some wire left over. he spent about 40mins on that, and i took about an hour on making bunches/posies and then wiring them into the base. i'm so proud of it! intially, i was going to make a couple to make for friends/family, but after foraging for the plants, realised it'll be too much effort. my hands are just about recovered from all the prickles of the pine fir and the horrid thorny pyracantha!

i've always wanted one that has that personal touch to it, but being in an inner-city area, didn't think it was worth it as i feared that it might get stolen (after yrs of making my own hanging baskets and getting them stolen. but 2yrs ago, been using cable ties to secure them and that's made all the difference. wreath has one too).

thanks to all those lovely compliments. i've never thought anyone would call it 'professional'... that's done me v proud!

does this inspire you to make one of your own, rather than buying those nasty cheapo leylandii versions about?

I want too....but too daunting. I have thought I might try a garland if I get time.....a line being easier than a circle :o
  • I think your wreath is fantastic! I especially love the mix of yellow berries and eucalyptus. Well done!!!
