TalkTalk What A Joke

Options
I have been trying to "Talk" to TalkTalk for over a week now via email with no response other than a reply asking for account details etc. I have decided they should be renamed "Talk To Yourself".

My problem is that on the 1st December my Outlook Express email stopped delivering my emails.... I haven't had any emails delivered since. I was originally with Tiscali and was told that everything would remain opperational when they changed things over. Now I have to log on to the TalkTalk main server to get my emails and I am getting fed up with it but even more fed up with my emails requesting help from TalkTalk being ignored.

Has this happened to anyone else out there? and if so are you still suffering or did you manage to sort it out?

    yep, you may need to update your mail server settings in Outlook to point to TalkTalk

    see here

  • Thanks for the advice. I have changed settings to talk talk but all I get when I check for emails is a box asking for my user name and password which is rejected even thought the information I fill in is correct. My email address is a tiscali address so I keep that the same right? or do I now become ****** @ talktalk.net

    Sorry to sound thick but I think TalkTalk should be explaining what the impact of changes they decide to make is going to have on their customers.... and I'm ****erd if I am going to ring India or where ever the heck they are. Feel like ditching them but who to go to instead they all seem as bad as each other from reading the problems people post on here.

    Details should have been with the email advising you of change .
    Details are as normal on the help pages of TT .
    Or join the TT users forum where somebody will walk you through the set up .
    As you have changed from Tiscali to TT then your Email address changes least it has done on the hundred or so TT users that i know of .

    That may be relatively true but TT have millions of satisfied customers and often problems are users not TT .
    The real problem is that TT etc are only making £24 a year from the average contract so CS is outsourced .

    GOOGLE found these .

  • Thanks will try some of these.

    This isn't a problem of my creation. I hadn't changed any settings whatsoever, it just stopped delivering emails to my outlook express overnight. I did get a reply from TT (in not very good English) but it didn't make any sense at all in relation the the question I asked or the problem I have been having :mad:

    Which providers have UK based Customer Service anyone know?

    Thanks S

    There are many;

    Mainly smaller and better quality ISP's;

    Zen, IDNet, Newnet, Fast etc. etc.

    you only lose your @tiscali.co.uk e-mail address if you have signed up for a new TT package since the takeover, otherwise (like myself) you retain the tiscali e-mail addys. I haven't signed up for a new package, and have no problem at all with any of my 5 tiscali e-mail addresses.....
    ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

    I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
  • Details should have been with the email advising you of change . NO they were not!!!
    Details are as normal on the help pages of TT .Oh yes? Hidden under pages of other rubbish??
    Or join the TT users forum where somebody will walk you through the set up . Tiscali users don't "need to join forums" to be "walked through" anything - TT forums are complete rubbish, just like their other "services"
    As you have changed from Tiscali to TT then your Email address changes least it has done on the hundred or so TT users that i know of . Nonsense. The tiscali email addresses stay the same unless you sign up with a new TT account

    That may be relatively true but TT have millions of satisfied customers and often problems are users not TT . Haven't seen the millions of "satisfied users" on here, nor on BBC Watchdog, nor on many many many other places on the web and in the media. Plus TT have been censured by Ofcom.
    The real problem is that TT etc are only making £24 a year from the average contract so CS is outsourced .Not the customers problem!!! However they certainly make it so!! Plusnet have moved ALL CS activity back to the UK and are just as cheap.......
  • Thanks everyone. Agree it is time to look elsewhere.

    Got another email from them today. No advice, just asking for an alternative email address, which I don't have, and my phone number...... which I pointed out they have already seeing as they use it to provide their service (or lack of). :mad:
