seller offering to refund but wants to collect item

Maybe he's trying to scam you. He refunds you by paypal collects it in person, tells Paypal you haven't returned it. You have no proof of return postage, he gets his money back.

I think that is why OP posted and of course proof of postage would not have helped, hence the question.
