seller offering to refund but wants to collect item

I recently bought a huge lot of ex market stall gear for my two for christmas it was largely toys but with a few clothes thrown in.
Anyway it was completely not as described I had a feeling it might not be because the seller wanted me to pay cash and collect it from a nearby supermarket car park. I didn't feel comfortable with this so paid paypal and paid £25 for the courier.
It arrived Sat and is completely not as described. Non of the items photographed are included.
The seller has agreed to a refund but wants to collect the lot personally. I'd like advice on how to guarantee I get a refund. I don't want them to collect the item and then I have no proof and also no items.
It's 15KG the parcel so is going to cost a lot to return but that's better than being £180 down.

Could they pay you back in cash when they collect the items?0

I'd either agree to cash refund when they collect them, or open a dispute with paypal for item not as described, then send them back tracked at your own expense, and request a refund for return postage. If they don't play ball, then leave a neg. Sometimes you'll find that ebay themselves will refund the return postage in the form of credit.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

I've escalated to a claim via paypal. I don't mind losing return postage better than being £180 down. Just been reading the thread about the faulty trampoline. They didn't get their return postage back.OPs so far £42,139

Try Interparcel.com, i use them all the time for my deliveries they are around the £8.50 mark for tracked delivery anywhere in the UK via UPS, TNT or Home delivery network up to 40kg in weight.0

Surely if he wants to collect then he gives you the refund in cash at the same time..Why go to the trouble of having to pay to return it if he wants to collect it. Just make sure you get the money in your hand before you hand the goods over.0

Fortunately when you get a refund via paypal it includes postage TO you, so you'll only be out of pocket for the return postage. I'd be marking them down for postage costs if nothing else...0 -

But you also did not state that he would NOT be paying in cash at the time of collection you just stated he wanted to collect them personally so I assumed that if he was collecting personally then a cash refund at the time seemed obvious.
