Soappie happy final day for tomorrow, I don't know how you've coped doing that I'd have gone stir crazy but like you said sometimes needs must and at least they have recognised you can do much much more. Enjoy your day x

Thanks Lil-me - the way I've coped is by being very grumpy, depressed and maudlin for the last few months! But, I've managed to hide that at work, smile sweetly and just get on with it without screaming, hitting someone or flouncing out in a prima dona type way.

And yes, I know these things need to be done, and I'll have to do them in my new job too, but, it won't be the ONLY thing I get to do. I'll get the more intellectually challenging stuff too which, hopefully, will even things out. And, I'll actually have an in tray with a workload instead of a constant "how can I help anyone?" sort of in tray.

Hope you all manage to make the most of the "mild" weather today before the snow comes tomorrow. The forecast is looking grim. If I were oop north, I think I would be getting food stocks in now.

Right, off to wash and dress and do the last day thing...

Morning all, sorry but not had the chance to catch up with the thread since yesterday so hugs where needed. I had a call from Mum yesterday to say that she thought Dad was getting worse so I went round there and called out an Ambulance. Docs at A & E could not believe that his Doc had not done more for him, his blood pressure had dropped to 89 over 39! He has severe Jaundice and may have Kidney and/or Liver failure so lots of tests being done today and possibly an Operation to follow. So unfortunately not alot of flying being done and I've got to tell work - I've only been there as a MDS for 2 months that I probably won't be in for the rest of the week - Mum needs taking to and from the hosp and alot of general support and of course
    Dad needs support too

Take care all - I'll be back soon as the house is now an absolute bloomin tip hehe

    Morning all,

Well unless it's another late call for supply, I guess I'm not working today, which suits me fine, as we've got our work Christmas pub quiz tonight and being the swot I am, I wanted to do a little revising. lol Monday I didn't get the call for work until 8.18am, and yesterday, it was 8am - at that time in the morning I hit all of the traffic and so I get stressed that I'm not going to get to school in time. I think snow is going to be making its way down here tomorrow and Friday, so don't know if I'll get any work then (it would've been unlikely anyway due to it being the last week of term).

Was fed up yesterday, as I had a rubbish day with some very rude children, then I went to Mr T to get the Xmas pressie for Moon that they'd promised would be back in stock yesterday, and it wasn't, then I went to cross the zebra crossing in Mr T and some woman deliberately drove straight over it. So, I chased her down the carpark and told her that zebra crossings meant she had to stop, and not just drive straight over them. It wasn't as though she hadn't seen it either as I was standing there pointing it out when I could see she wasn't going to stop. Then, I bought a nice mauve blanket in homesense for my Nana, and it's too small, so I've got to take it back.:( *RANT OVER*
The day ended nicely though, as Moon helped me to wash my hair (my finger is still opening up slightly at the cuticle end of the cut, so I didn't want to get shampoo in it). It is such a relief to have clean hair again. :D

So, plan of action today, is to wrap some xmas pressies, take back the blanket, collect the Mr T gift (they will call me if it comes in this time), revise for the quiz, do some washing, and try to complete level one from each of the lists so far. Oh, and I also need to post tooch's card.

Hugs to Castri, and other poorlies with pneumonia and other bugs.
Have a fab time at the Quo concert AnW'sMum & Miss A.
Fingers crossed for greenbee that everything is ok at the doctors.

    Happy flying everyone,

    sexymouse xx

this is possibly my most feared list of jobs....i love to cook but am lazy about cleaning up afterwards and putting away. the microwave looks like somethings been nuked to death in there and the cooker is bad too.

love the phrase RoD - thats the spare bedroom in our house, its where we put spiders we find in the bath...no one ever goes in there except to add more stuff we dont want cluttering downstairs. in fact i only put some stuff in there yesterday when i did the living room

cleaned the microwave with the bowl of water and lime juice cos i had a manky lime to use up.

wrapped pressies for DD and her lot cos they need to go via a carrier to wales.

decluttered kitchen and did a load of washing.

I have a question... does anyone have any tips on cleaning out a microwave?

I had a look at the inside of ours today (as it has stopped rotating properly, but that's another issue!) and it is GROSS... covered in bits of bolognese, porridge and goodness knows what else! I'm sure time and elbow grease will get it, but, well, I'm pushed for time... and the rest of the house urgently requires my stock of elbow grease!

bowl of hot water witha few drops of washing up liquid in and some lemon slices - put in microwave and cook on full power for a few minutes.

The steam starts to cut through the grease and the lemon juice and w/u liquid really help.

Then all it needs is a wipe round with a cloth! The lemon juice leaves a nice smell too!

This is a Kim and Aggie tip! And it works!

Just checking this morning's list and saw this :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    What happened? Everyone ok???

Hope this is a lesson to whoever said they didn't have any smokealarms!

Strike this post and ignore me lol. Just saw the sentence above the list. Teaches me to read properly lol

One of the children left the grill on and set the kitchen alight.. 2 years ago today. I didn't have a cooker until 8th February!!!!!!! The repainting was done last spring!! We were all sitting oblivious until DS2 came in and said 'Muuuuuuuuum, the kitchen is on fire!'... I thought yeah yeah.. bit of smoke.. OMFG.. flames up the front of the cooker.. next to my wicker potato hopper and a pile of egg boxes for school!!.. 7 piles of 'sorted' laundry on the floor.. mainly white!

DS2 got the little ones out of the house and took them across the road and I locked cats and rabbits in another room away from the smoke/flames.

We did have smoke alarms but they were not in the correct places so the didn't go off until after the fire was out.

I have an absolute terror of a house fire and not being able to rescue the children.. and the furry critters. 8 years ago on Christmas eve a house round the corner from our old hovel had a fire.. from tree lights!!.. a 26 y/o woman and her 3 year old were both killed after the ceiling decs spread the fire way quicker than it would spread normally... they were close friends of my cousin so we did know them vaguely.. That was what her family woke up to on Christmas day!!

Anyhoo.. the fire chappies took down the old ones and added about a million new ones, stomped mud all over from the roadworks out the front of my house (from the burst pipe we had the week before while they were replacing lamp posts) my poor washing in the kitchen was ruined..

Not an experience I would like to repeat.. ever!!
