  • As always with threads such as this, I am very sorry to hear your sad news. I know you must be so sad right now but, I hope I don't offend you with what I want to say... The way Bob chose to go, the way he passed, you should take comfort from. It was very quick, his last hours and minutes were normal, painfree and happy - when we lost our beautiful girl in May, she wasn't that lucky and we had to listen to her in awful, heartbreaking pain during her last few weeks :(

I wish it had been so quick and peaceful for her.

    Hugs to you x

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to have my last rescue dog pts. I still miss him.

I'm never getting another dog, when my current one goes; too much like another child.

Please never say never. I personally can never see me not having a dog, I feel that life would be so empty without one. My little Lhasa Apso rescue dog gives me so much joy and a reason to get up in the morning! There are so many little souls needing homes and you obviously have the love to give. I lost three "oldies" in two years, heartbreaking yes, but having got over the grief, I can look back on the joy and love they gave me.

    Best wishes

I agree 1000%!!! The day Orbit passed away,I could NOT stay in the house.I had to get out the house felt empty, like the life had gone from it.Everywhere I looked the was memories of Orbit.
I went for a drive & found myself over at the ASSIS Animal Shelter & spent a good hour or three there,I was in bits.
Eventually I took Christmas the cat,a 2 year old white cat.Sadly I had to return her after a day as she, being deaf, was too much of a handful.
I was chosen then by Daisy, who was the opposite of what I was looking for.I suppose I wanted another cat that looked like Orbit.
Daisy came home that day & has been my constant companion & a godsend to me while I was out of work.
How can I put this,Daisy doesn't hold the same place in my heart as Orbit did,but she is a companion I could not do without.I love her to bits! (Even when she sticks her bum in my face in the mornings!lol:rotfl:) Does that make sense?

    RAINBOW BRIDGE

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears !!!!! forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
    For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

    Run free. x x x
