Like I said I'll be staying put. I've got a 30 bit AMD Sempron 3200+ on a 64 bit capable motherboard. 1024mb ddr 3200. Motherboard has 128mb graphics. I see no reason why I should have to upgrade my components to run Vista. Not only would I have to buy a graphics card, I'd have to fork out a !!!!!! load of cash on the OS itself. NOT VERY MONEYSAVING.
I propose Martin takes on Bill Gates nextThis country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down0 -
I wish Linux was good for modern gaming!!
I still do not get why with Vista you need twice the computer(at least) if you just want to run word and use internet!! Weird!!
It will be interesting to compare the Directx10 graphics in Vista PCs to the consoles in the next year.0 -
Even if i got vista for free i would not put it on my pc as of yet. XP works fine for what i use it for. i have a 9800pro 128mb graphics card which gives me good enough graphics as i need so why should i change. Looking at vista, for the average user it seems that most of it is gimmicks rather than anything useful which have been added to itSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

Here's a list of what they think a premium PC should at least have:
A Windows Vista Premium Ready PC includes at least:
1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor1.
1 GB of system memory.
Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum)2, Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.
40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space.
DVD-ROM Drive3.
Audio output capability.
Internet access capability.
Let's not forget that Windows Vista Aero provides a glass like interface so you can see through open windows. WOW. I'm amazed. Not!
A poncified version of XP if you ask me.This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down0 -
Funny that Mac OSX had the following requirements for the 10.4 version:
A G4,G4,G5 or Intel based Macs
256MB ram
Maximum of 4gb HDD space
The 1.5 version may only support G4 based Macs onwards, probably 512mb of ram and perhaps 16mb or 32mb of graphics memory. This is what I have read in various forums.
Definitely less hardware specs to run work processing, basic picture editing and internet use that most people do.0 -
I think it'd be crazy for ordinary pc users to get Vista as soon as it came out, better to wait for it to settle in first and iron out the bugs/lack of drivers the Beta & Gamma testers wouldn't have reported."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
