Orange contract and upgrade

I've had my contract with Orange for 18mths now (its a 3yr one), part of the contract was that i could upgrade my phone after 18mths but now Orange are saying I cannot. When I took the contract out it was on their £5 tariff but i soon realised this wasn't enough and changed it to the £10 one.

Orange are now saying that because I only did this in April of this year I have another 10 months to go before I can upgrade. I did the transaction over the phone and was not told that changing my payment would result in a new contract, neither did I receive a new contract in the post.

Is what I have been told correct, it seems quite unfair particularly that I increased the amount I'm paying to them!

I think you've misunderstood, the original contract was for 3yrs, its halfway through that I'm entitled to an upgrade.

The original contract was voided when you changed to the £10 a month option. The T&C's on that, new, contract are now in force.

As JJ suggests, write to them and explain you didn't get told this. . .

Or escalate whilst you are on the phone to a supervisor if you are not happy then to the shift manager much quicker than writing to them. All calls should be returned from a supervisor within 2-4 hours It is possible for any supervisor to edit your account so you can upgrade ! I think that this is just a case of you not understanding what you have changed.

Sounds like you have been put onto a £10 18 month contract. In my opinion I dont think Orange will allow you to upgrade you could offer to buy out the 10 months of your contract and see if they will then allow you to upgrade ?
