Roxburghe Debt Collectors

I've been contacted by Graham White solicitors on behalf of Roxburghe Debt collectors due to an alleged unpaid parking fee in May 2010 at my local railway station.
The facts are that I paid for the parking via my mobile phone but upon returning to my car in the evening found a PCN for unpaid parking. I contacted the parking company APCOA, explained the situation and was recommended to appeal in writing which I did. Having heard nothing I received a letter from Roxburghe in November chasing the unpaid PCN and additional late payment charges. I contacted Roxburghe and APCOA to explain I had paid the original parking fee on the day!. APCOA said the matter was now with their debt collectors and they couldn't do anything. Rocburghe advised me to write to them which I did. However two weeks later I received another letter from them (slightly more threatening); I contacted them to say I was appealing and had written to them. The claimed not to have received the letter and advised I wrote again. This time I sent the letter recorded delivery and after one week received another letter from them saying my appeal was rejected and i had 7 days to pay in full. However the day before I had received a letter from Graham White Solicitors for Roxburghe advising me of intended legal action and to contact them within 14 days.
I'm appalled at how reputably companies such as rail operators employ ostensibly private parking companies such as APCOA to manage their parking and they in turn employ debt collection agencies and solicitors to harass their law abiding customers.
Any comments or advice is welcomed.

There are lots of threads about both Roxburgh and Graham White and they ALL advise the same thing.
It wasn't a PCN it was an invoice
You have no obligation to pay it
Ignore all communications from APCOA or the other two
Do not respond further0 -
Roxburghe and Graham White are the same company if you notice their respective addresses they will be very similar, but in any case you should simply ignore them completely from now on in, you need to forward any complaints to the TOC and Network Rail if you wish, they will probably do nothing , but if they get enough complaints they will look at the cowboys who operate at their facilities!Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Just read the threads above yours and you should learn enough to convince you it really is OK to ignore this. In the top 'sticky' threads by Crabman you will discover pictures of the Roxburghe and Graham White letter-chain seen through to the end (Final, Final Demand, then they give up - maybe the odd random phone call but that's covered in the threads as well).
You'll also see another thread by Crabman with info about PPC tickets and why they are unenforceable, backed up by a link to Watchdog in May where their Solicitor kindly showed Anne Robinson how to make a PPC ticket into a paper aeroplane!
HTH, don't even think about writing to them. Tell your friends & family over Christmas all about it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
