Not that I really know anything.
I don'tknow either, only that I have a gut instinct that the scapgoating that we have seen so much of in recent years doesn't solve anything finacially and might in fact make things worse ''socially'' for all of us long term.0 -
The Afghanistan war is costing us a fortune in human life and money and we should withdraw imo. Let us leave the Taliban in charge where women have zero rights and face stoneing along with gays, if they even venture out alone. No schooling for girls. No votes for anyone. No right of religious choice. Let us leave them to a civil war where thousands of civilians will die.... but not by UK forces. Would you feel better then Damaged?
With regards why there is not a thread on civilian deaths by uk forces in Afghanistan it is because nobody has started one..... or maybe it is a CIA plot.
Sorry to point out, none of the above reasons are why we are in afghanistan. The mission has one stated aim; to increase security of the UK. If we leave afghan the cesspit we found it, minus the threats to the UK, its mission accomplished and back home for tea and medals.0 -

True. If we invaded every country with poor human rights records we would be in half the countries on the globe. This was all about Al-Qaida and had the Taliban stepped aside like they were asked to, we would not be there now. As usual, a war was entered into without an exit strategy or really any serious idea of objectives and we are still there years later.
Lets not fool ourselves that we entered Iraq or Afghanistan for humanitarian reasons, these were just tacked on when the original reason fell apart.
Politicians. Stick a peg on your nose when you go near them.0 -
