I would use it in lawnmowers, the stand behind and push kind, not the ride on kind, but you could use it in any "non road use" application. e.g. chainsaw, the fuel tank on my chain saw is about 1/4 litre :D but it's the principle of using road fuel to power these things that I object to.

When I was at the oil suppliers, I got the impression they would have sold me 20 litres of red diesel no-questions asked. Because that's what they thought I had come for.

If you want red diesel wouldn't it run of WVO instead?.

Seeing as it's prob an old style diesel lump it might be quite feasable?.

Could be an option maybe, but then again i don't know anything about generators

why would i use it in any vehicle when the fine is about 15000 quid??!!

Think that fines if it's in connection with a business.
Kerosene? If you dont use kero yourself, anyone local who would sell you it from their tank?
when i ran out a couple of xmas's a go, one of the local suppliers were going to sell me 50 litres if I could get to them with containers. It WAS the security guard tho.

The fine is, (or was until very recently) £500. It doesn't take too long to save that much if you use it in a (say) taxi.
This is one of the reasons red diesel is being phased out. You will soon need to claim your overpaid duty back from HMRC.

Local garage sells it off the pump... IRC its circa 70ppl... In Bulk I Know its around 58.5ppl + the vat @ 5%

White in Bulk works around 124ppl inc the vat.... Thats on 6000litres delivered at a time.We are switching to 45000litre deliverys every 3 weeks.. New 50K litre tank waiting to be plumbed in..... so may bring the price down ppl...

Diesels been a nightmare to have delivered lately... So many broken promises regarding delivery times etc. And many Quoting dates into 2011 for delivery.

Keros hit 60ppl in places... well having a laugh.

I looked in yellow pages under "oil fuel distibutors and suppliers"
When I went to one of the named busnesses they were also selling agricultural diesel, which wasn't what I went there for but it was interesting to note that.

Agricultural diesel and red diesel are the same thing.

Someone said the fine is 15000 if used for a business e.g. taxi
In any event in addition to any fine you would lose your car. If you drive an old banger that's not going to be much of a problem.

I can see that a fine of 500 is not much of a deterrant for Joe Public driving a banger but you might draw attention to yourself when you start buying the stuff in large quantities.
